Progressive Insurance Shoots To Number One In Mobile Advertising

By Omar Rashad

Mobile advertising is the way of the future and most of the big firms around the world realize this. They are putting in a lot of money into these mobile advertising companies and the results are there for everyone to see. These are some of the biggest players in the game and they realize the worth of having targeted ads delivered to people's phones within seconds on a regular basis. It just does not get easier than this. Progressive Insurance has made sure they are the top of the heap when it comes to advertising this way.

While on PC-based Internet retailers are the top spenders of advertising dollars, on the mobile platform, there were only two that made it to the top ten list. Also, while American Express ranks top as the top single advertisers for PC Internet, it only ranked 30 in the mobile category. Here's the complete top ten list of advertisers in the mobile category: Progressive Insurance, AT&T, Microsoft, Verizon, Capital One, Comcast Corporation, LowerMyBils, Toyota, Amazon and TransUnion.

Some of the other big names that have gone down this route include the likes of Microsoft, Verizon and Amazon. These are just some of the most important names and there are many more that are going down this route. It is a goldmine for businesses because there are less people ignoring these ads and that is wonderful for businesses.

If you're a company with a huge advertising budget, it would really pay if you spend some of your advertising budget in mobile advertising. Find a web developer who can create a great mobile ad so you can attract new customers.

Mobile internet is expected to increase in popularity within the coming years. Nobody expects it to slow down any time soon, even with new Internet gadgets like the smart watch.

In terms of the top spenders online, it is the retailers that come in first, although there are only a small number on the list (based on whether AT&T are counted or not). One interesting piece of data that the report showed was how the gap is widening between some advertisers when it comes to their budget for PC and mobile spending. The top single advertiser was American Express (for PC) in Q2, but it only came in as number thirty when it comes to mobile spending. This is something that the company is likely to address in the next quarter.
