There is a Topic Feed that ranks the content by topic, and a hashtag counter that shows which hashtags are performing the best. Finally, there is a Topic Insights at which will show information about users that are creating the trends in the topics, based upon geography, gender and age.

Although there are many reasons that people would use these applications, for businesses, it has many possibilities. When taking polls of what people are thinking about real-time, especially during large media events such as an election, American Idol, or even the Superbowl, people can learn what is trending, what topics are hot, and use this information to potentially market to these individuals. This is perfect for businesses that are trying to find out what is trending right now, something that only Twitter has had available for businesses to use up until this point in time.
