The Internship Experience Of Caitlin Crawford Dallas Cowboys

By Jaclyn Hurley

The National Football League, also known as the NFL, has many teams that play in the American professional league. One of these teams is the Dallas Cowboys. This team has been around for many decades and has experienced a lot of success in the NFL. Many young people who are interested in the franchise seek to have an internship with the team, such as Caitlin Crawford Dallas Cowboys.

The team plays most of its home games at the AT&T Stadium which is located in Arlington, Texas. They joined the NFL in 1960 as an expansion team and developed a national following which led to many home games selling out. The team sold-out one hundred and sixty home games from 1990 onwards. The team currently holds the record for eight Super Bowl appearances, which is more than any other team except for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are the only team in the NFL to have twenty straight winning seasons, from 1966 to 1985. During this time, they only missed the playoffs twice.

The NFL is composed of different divisions. The Cowboys compete in the Eastern Division, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants. This division has largely remained the same from the original six teams that were formed when the NFL and the AFL merged. This has given rise to some very long rivalries among the teams.

The team uniform is very distinctive. The navy road jerseys, also called the Stars and Stripes Jersey, have navy pinstripes with white lettering. Each sleeve has a white and grey stripe and a V-neck collar. The popular star logo is shown on the stripes. The pants used in away games are metallic-silver, similar to the home pants, to bring out the navy color in the uniforms. The team cheerleaders also have their own distinctive uniform which includes an off-the-shoulder design.

During the second summer as an intern, she attended some of the football camps to gain more experience as a broadcaster. She was able to produce and report on some features and got to interview some of the players. She also worked on creating player biographies and fan interviews.

At the start of her internship, her task was to handle the editing of footage taking place in the stadium. After being a video editor for the department, she began shooting footage on her own. Part of her internship involved covering events taking place in the stadium, such as the auditions for the cheerleading team, which allowed her to meet the participants.

Her internship allowed her to gain experience with operating the equipment, since she helped the camera people to shot some of the events. She helped the media team behind the scenes at games taking place at the stadium, and even assisted with various designing and marketing projects for her department.

Bill Mercer was another well known commentator on the radio station. When Mercer left the station, Verne Lundquist joined and became their announcer until 1977. Brad Sham then took over as the voice of the station once Lundquist left.
