Deviantart & The Potential For Long Island Advertising Agencies

By Robbie Sutter

A good number of social media channels are based on the idea of communications alone, which is easy to see. From Facebook to Twitter, there doesn't seem to be a specific interest that's honed in on, which helps to make them that much more accessible. Then there are sites which do have their own focuses; this is where DeviantArt should be brought into discussion. One has to wonder if a site like this could prove to be of use to Long Island advertising agencies across the board.

When talking about social media websites, DeviantArt deserves focus of its own. Specifically, you have to keep in mind that this site encompasses variety when related to art, regardless of the type of media being showcased on the site in question. If you are the kind of individual who believes that their creativity is strong, it wouldn't be out of the question to assume that DeviantArt could come into effect for you. This doesn't even begin to touch upon the vast community for Long Island advertising agencies to potentially engage.

Artwork isn't the only focus associated with DeviantArt; it's important to look at the distribution of feedback. For example, the site is open to criticism as it relates to the art of its various users, which is tremendous to say the least. Someone who may be considered a "novice" in his or her field may look into what could be improved upon or what a possible strength might be. Any kind of feedback is useful, though, regardless of one's level of skill in their particular medium.

Is it possible, though, that Long Island advertising agencies can come into play for DeviantArt? It's important to keep in mind that many of these agencies house services related to graphic design and web building, both of which could be applied to the overall focus of DeviantArt. Even if it is done with a marketing point of view, creativity still shines through. I have to believe that this added level of awareness can appeal to various firms, fishbat included amongst them.

Of course, it's easy to make the argument that DeviantArt is a hobbyist's site alone but I've seen people make money off of their work as well. Depending on how good their work is, people can actually buy full prints of said work, the funds going to the artists who create various portraits, drawings, and what have you. In terms of marketing, I am sure that the aforementioned agencies can use DeviantArt as a way to market their own designs. Given the bustling art community on the site, it's easy to see why.
