How To Know If You Need Corrective Lenses

By Jim Thorpe

Since she was a very small child, the world had seemed, to Charlotte, a little different than the way others described it. Her friends and parents would speak of the rocky face of the mountain, the sharp and pointy rooftop of the church next door, and the stark stripes on the tiger at the zoo, but she just couldn't understand. How can they say the mountain is bumpy, she wondered?

If you have difficulty seeing objects that are far away, yet have no problems viewing items up close, then you might be suffering from nearsightedness. This is one of the most common symptoms of worsening eyes. If you have difficulty reading text on distant signs, poor night vision, or an inability to see the television clearly, then you probably have nearsightedness.

The exact opposite of the previous symptom that we discusses, farsightedness allows you to see distant objects easily, but makes it difficult to focus on them once they are up close.

One day, Charlotte saw a young boy with a strange object sitting on his nose, covering his eyes, and resting on his ears. What is that, she wondered? And then, feeling particularly brave, she asked him. They are glasses, he replied, and he let her try them on. As soon as the glasses covered her eyes, Charlotte saw the mountain and its face was rocky, she glanced at the church, and its roof was sharp and pointy, and she saw her tiger friend with a starkly striped back.

Nerds everywhere are gaining respect and popularity as their glasses, once looked down upon, are now becoming cooler and cooler for everyone in the world. As you are looking to improve your image, and your ability to see the images of others, you should look into the ever-changing world of glasses.

Those same children, who were once called four-eyes by their criminal classmates, are now being recognized as ahead of the crowd. Your thick frames or cat eyed specs can now set you apart as one of the elite, the cool, and the interesting.

While there are many diagnosable vision disorders, one of the most reliable indicators of vision problems is your level of comfort. If using your eyes to read or examine things for extended periods of time causes you to suffer from eye pain, headaches, or any other discomfort, then it's always a good idea to go see the eye doctor, just to make sure that you don't need corrective lenses.

"Charlotte," he said, "Your individual vision plans are important, and they require that you take good care of your eyes. Change your contacts regularly, and keep them clean. Follow the directions on the box, and your vision health insurance will always cover the cost of your contacts!"

She was very grateful for Dr. Ais, and her vision insurance, and so, Charlotte went home with her new contacts, and was able to choose which world to see, when she chose whether or not to wear contacts each morning.
