A Simple Guide To Email Marketing

By Abraham Joseph

Nearly everyone in the world's developed countries now has access to email, and that makes nearly everyone a candidate for email marketing. This is a tremendous opportunity for marketers to send a message about their product and get a one-on-one chance for a look at what they have to offer. Yes, much of the email marketing efforts officially are spam, or unsolicited and is thus technically illegal, it is still done quite normally and without care.

You should only require an email address in your subscription page. Even better, you should enable your would-be subscribers to sign up using their Facebook accounts. If you require more than an email address, you will turn off your would-be subscribers.

The truth about people is that they really don't like to feel like you're just using them to sell different things. That said, before you tell people to buy this or that, make it a point to send email that are valuable, like links to discounts and other stuff. The ideal ratio for sales emails to valuable emails should be one is to four.

Write your emails around holidays and special occasions like Christmas, Valentine's day, Thanksgiving, and others. Your customers will like you for it because it will tell them that you're a real person, not just a robot. You can tie up your offers with the occasion.

The number one rule in marketing is that people don't buy your product until they have been exposed to it 7 different times. An email campaign fueled by an auto responder gives him that chance on an automated basis.

The best thing about using email marketing is that it is free to use. Most email marketers will go to great lengths to build lists of people who have similar interests and then keep the list in the group for the marketing.
